As I know most of you do as well. HOWEVER. there is one new car, and only one new car, that I would purchase. I’m not quite at a point where it makes sense (as much sense as buying new ever does) but... I’m getting closer.
I want an M2. 6 spd manual, that gorgeous shade of blue. Hell, I even love the grey. It’s got tons of interior space (comparatively) and is a fantastic place to be. I’ve never driven one, but the engine note from outside the vehicle is heavenly. I want an M2.
I don’t like modern day BMW. But... I still want an M2. I’m gunning for regional operations management position in 6-12 months, and if that happens... Well. I’ll probably buy a cheap NSX. Or a nice 100 series Land Cruiser. Maybe get an rx7. V70r. Maybe just throw some cash at my Miata and finally go play with the big boys a la engine swap.
But maybe, juuuust maybe. I’ll find a 6spd manual M2, in blue. At this point I’m not sure if getting a test drive would be a great idea, or a terrible idea.
Who here has any experience with ze M2?

I have no experience with the M2 but I have the same hankering for one. The thought to spend the house down payment on one has crossed my mind on more than one occasion . I may buy a 128i to hold me over in the meantime.

I believe the M2 is already dead, so any brand new one would be a leftover from last model year. Now only the M2 Competition lives on, and I don’t like the conjoined kidneys so I guess I missed my shot. Would be mighty nice, still.

Theyre nice cars. I had a chance to drive one while looking at F80's with my fiance. She was not a fan of it, but she doesn’t like coupes all that much.
As someone else stated, they are no longer producing the existing M2. The M2 competition should start dropping toward the end of the year, but most of the current allotments are taken from what I’ve heard. The new model should be excellent. Minimal changes to the chassis, but it now has the S55, the powerhouse from the F8X.
I thought the M2 felt a little slow, but the competition should be very quick.

I’ll be disappointed if you don't think about the crown Vic.

I hope styling stays more-or-less the same. I really do think that the M2 is the best looking BMW at the moment.

I would like a crown Vic project, but I'm unsure of what type of build I'd go for. The Miata is kinda the do-everything build with offroading, track days, etc. Someday I want to build a sleeper Miata with a V8 that looks OEM from the outside. I have this dream to build the comfiest vehicle ever. Like tons of sound-deadening, air suspension, thicker glass, cooling/heated seats.... The whole 9 yards. Maybe a crown Vic would be a good base for that

The Vic is basically the RV of sedans. Why not?

I... I think I like the M2 better? At least from a looks perspective. It’s like a BRZ that hit the gy m religiously for a few years and got a new job managing executives.
